We started out as an agency for younger kids, who were from 6-15 years of age," said Ibanibo Jack, "then after three years, we went to an older age group, boys from 10-21 years of age."

Ibanibo and Veretta Jack have spent the last ten years of their lives building Haniel's Home of Hope, an agency they founded.  "We call it a home away from home," said Veretta Jack, "and that's what our group home has been."

"My wife and I started out as foster parents in 1986.  We were licensed foster parents from 1986 up until 1993.  Then, we thought of providing services for other children, "said Ibanibo Jack.  The vision to create a group home for children somehow grew out of what they both consider as the greatest moment in their lives, says Veretta Jack, which was the moment their own child was born, on June 10, 1992.

Haniel's Home of Hope was incorporated in 1992 and was first located on Forest Street.  "We felt that we knew much about kids and we wanted to start a group home.  Haniel is the name of a man who gave a child a chance.  That man was Mr. Jack's stepfather," said Veretta Jack.

We've come this far by Faith. We believe that to get the greatest benefit for the children that we must have faith and live faithfully.
Haniel's Home of Hope cares for the children that the State of Missouri sees fit to grant us the privilege of caring for in their time of need.
There is great pleasure in seeing the children of Haniel's Home of Hope go on to be productive citizens.
Nothing gives us greater joy than to see the transformation that the children have after spending time with us at Haniel's.
The staff at Haniel's Home of Hope are highly educated and sensitive to the needs of children.

Our staff helps to give the children the discipline they need to make it in the world.
